Pete & Bob
Born and raised in Scranton, Pete and Bob Ventura combine eighty years in the Texas wiener business. Both started out as bus boys, then waiters and finally cooks under the watchful eyes of their father and grandfather. Pete became the grill man. In 2004 he sliced his 4 millionth bun, earning the title 'Bun King'! His soups, rice pudding and Chili-con-carne are local favorites. Bob, a master chili sauce and hamburger maker, uses the same spices, the same spice company and the same ingredients as our forefathers. Bob's sauce has been enjoyed by our customers for over four decades. His meatball style hamburger patties, made from lean Schiff's ground round, are legendary. No fast food burgers here, after Bob deep fries them, he marinates them in a special chili sauce before they are served. The taste is unbeatable! Pete puts it all together at the grill, (while talking baseball) putting on a show as he lines wieners on his arm and adds the toppings! They're a team that can't be beat! You don't have to come in on special days to see Pete and Bob on the grill, If they aren't there, its because they are closed, so you'll always get the same great taste!
